项目摘要

本年度は、東西キリスト教の精神性の差異を明らかにするために、①西方教会において『ディオニュシオス文書』を註解した著作家、エリウゲナとトマス・アクィナスの神化理解を研究し、更に②これまでの研究で得られた成果をもとに、神化概念を巡る東西教会の理解について比較研究を行った。①前年度に引き続きトマスの『神名論註解』及び『神学大全』の研究を進め、加えてエリウゲナの『ペリヒュセオン』と『天上位階論註解』の読解を通して、以下の新たな知見を得た。（イ）エリウゲナは、神化を神の知恵（＝キリスト）の人間への下降と人間の神への上昇のダイナミズムおいて捉え、専ら知性の次元において生起する神人合一の事態として理解した。（ロ）トマスは神化を「恩寵によって人間の知性が神を分有すること」として捉え、人間の究極目的である「神の本質の直観」が成立するための条件とした。その際、神化は彼の「義化」や「聖化」の概念と接続するものとなっている。②以上の研究に前年度までの研究成果を綜合して比較考察を行い、以下の見通しを得た。（ハ）東西教会の著作家たちの神化理解はディオニュシオスを継承しつつ、大きく二つの傾向に分けることができる。一つは、神化における知性重視の傾向であり（西方）、いま一つは、神化を心身両面において生起するものと捉える傾向である（東方）。（ニ）こうした神化を巡る傾向の差異は、後の東西の神化概念の展開に密接に関わっている。西方では、神化は神認識という大きな問題系の中に埋もれ、救済概念としても、隣接する概念である義化や聖化に押されて後景に退き、神学的主題として固有の位置を与えられることはなかった。これに対し、東方における神化は、具体的な人間に生起しうることとして、今日でも修道の目的や儀礼の中心的な意味であり続けている。以上の成果は11月の中世哲学会等で発表され、次年度中に論文として刊行される予定である。
