项目摘要

第一に、林羅山『本朝神社考』における清原宣賢『日本書紀抄』利用に関する基礎的問題について検討した。まず、清原宣賢『日本書紀抄』（後抄本手控）が『本朝神社考』の主要典拠であること、同書以外の『日本書紀』注釈書が利用されていないことを確認した。次に、同書利用のあり方とその位置づけを他の主要典拠と比較しながら検討し、同書が羅山にとって重要な知識源であり、先行注釈書とも称し得る最も重要な典拠であるにもかかわらず、その重要性が隠匿されていることを明らかにすることによって、『本朝神社考』の学問のあり方を開示した。そして、如上、及び、『日本書紀抄』享受の近世前期神道学史における位置づけについて考察した。第二に、『本朝神社考』の典拠と引用標示について検討した。まず、『本朝神社考』の主要典拠、及び、中世典籍の利用とその引用方法を実証的に検討し、『本朝神社考』の学問について再検討することによって、『本朝神社考』が利用している中世典籍は一般的・通俗的なものが多く、先行研究が予測しているような寺社文献の占める割合は少ないと言わざるを得ないこと、『本朝神社考』の引用標示には一定の法則があり、羅山が隠匿したいものについては標示が朧化・捏造されていることを明らかにした。次に、上記の標示箇所の近世における受容を検討することによって、近世前期学問史の一隅を瞥見し、近世前期学問史の国学前史としての一面と羅山の学問的権威に正負の両面があったことを考察した。以上は、中世後期学問史、中世末期・近世初期学問史、近世前期学問史、国学以後の学問史各々を考える上で重要な成果であり、さらなる研究の進展が待たれるところである。
