本研究は（１）慣習法の概念の形成過程および位置づけの変化の再検討、（２）司法制度の内外における慣習法知識の教育、（３）裁判所におけるローカルな知識についての研究、という三つの柱を持ち、今年度はこれらのテーマに関連して、国内においての文献調査、インドネシアにおける現地調査、および研究成果の公開に向けたデータの分析を行った。その成果の一部は、2016年5月に行われる日本文化人類学会で報告することが決定しているほか、論文集の分担執筆という形式での成果発表を準備している。また関連する書籍についての書評を和文と英文で刊行し、さらに英文で一件が掲載予定である。具体的に行った作業の概要は以下の通りである。開発法学のなかでの多元的法体制論の動向および慣習法の位置づけについて、挑戦的萌芽研究「アジア海上保安機関制度構築・能力向上支援の法人類学的検討」（研究代表者：海上保安大学校　准教授　河村有教）の研究会で二回の発表を行った。開発法学では、多元的法体制のもとでどのように「法の支配」を確立するかが議論されている。しかし現状を理解し今後の展望を描くにあたっては、法の支配が掲げる普遍的価値と、慣習的規範との対立・区別を前提にするのではなく、国家の法と慣習法が互いに参照しあいながら生成してきた関係をふまえることが重要である。研究会での議論をふまえ、多元的法体制論と開発についての論文集の刊行準備を進めている。また2015年12月から2016年にかけてインドネシア共和国メダン市に滞在し、メダン地方裁判所および北スマトラ大学で聞き取り調査および資料収集を行った。
