Transcend is a UK-based SME that manufactures packaging for the food and healthcare sectors. The project team is led by Peter Davies (project/technical lead), Lorenzo Angelucci (co-founder/CEO) and Justin Bailes (CFO/commercial lead). Transcend is developing a biodegradable packaging product that can be thermoformed and used as a replacement for single-use plastics. Its ability to accept coatings means that it can be used for liquids and long shelf-life products. This product will help to reduce the large amount of plastic packaging waste that is currently not recycled and ends up in landfill or our oceans.
