Industrialisation Scale-up of Power Controller Production at Magtec

Magtec is the UK's leading independent supplier of commercial BEV drive systems, particularly for niche applications. The Magtec SuRV project will support the industrialisation of our power controller production to meet short term demand and planned exponential growth in vehicle and powertrain systems post project completion. The project will (1) incorporate best practices in lean manufacturing (LM) and design for manufacture (DfM) to our power controllers, and will demonstrate production improvement, (2) develop the supply chain for our current controllers, and design our next generation power controller (NGPC) along with developing this new supply chain for scale-up, (3) design a blueprint production line for the NGPC for Scale-up Readiness Validation, and (4) demonstrate NGPC production on our developed production line, and validate our blueprint production line design for the NGPC. The project will support Magtec in unlocking additional funding and growth to expand its Yorkshire based operations.
