(SMDI) is developing a mobile transportable thermal energy storage unit (a battery) that would allow storage, transportation and utilisation of heat:\* recovered from industrial processes;\* generated from excess electric power at wind or solar farms;\* harnessed from other heat sources.SMDI aims to:\* de-carbonise heating by eliminating utilisation of natural gas for heating;\* reduce volatility of energy prices and supply to consumers;\* provide affordable, reliable and clean heating solution to all households;\* provide grid balancing capability;\* optimise operation of renewable energy farms.
