英文摘要
Transporting cargo efficiently over long distances in bad weather conditions and at speed is an unsolved problem with current technologies. Current state-of-the-art delivery drones are predominantly focused on last mile delivery in good weather conditions and therefore unsuitable. We have decided to steer away from last-mile delivery to focus on intercity, humanitarian aid and offshore deliveries. Solving this challenge would reduce the likelihood of death for people who are awaiting organs, medicine, food and essential supplies to be delivered. In addition to great humanitarian benefit, our solution will open up new markets that were not possible before.Current FW VTOL drone solutions are limited in their range, payload, speed and safety. Our solution is built around technologies that were first deployed during the drone incident at Gatwick and draws upon our world leading expertise in drones to create a complete robust solution. We are designing a totally new aircraft that will autonomously operate in adverse weather conditions, flies twice as fast, for twice as long and carries twice as much payload as the next best FW VTOL drone. This will contribute to the competitiveness of the UK and place Global Britain ahead in the drone delivery market. The solution also helps to move away from ground based polluting transport methods into a greener, cleaner and faster transportation. This project meets several government policies such as Levelling Up, Net Zero and AI Global Leadership as well as being aligned with the goals of the UK Industrial Strategy.
