The application of virtual reality to tackle mental health issues and improve well-being within elderly care

Recreo VR provides innovative and accessible applications of virtual reality for the health and the social care sector. Immersive virtual environments are providing a hugely beneficial effect on users well-being and mental health through engaging activities and reminiscence sessions. We are working with the National Trust to digitise their properties so that those who are unable to visit have access to these wonderful places through our VR services. Through this project we will be providing structured sessions to residents in care homes who will be transported virtually to locations up and down the country. We are hoping to measure the impact of this project, and build a robust framework for a range of applications of virtual reality within the care sector.
