项目摘要
PROJECT SUMMARY
As an underrepresented, first-generation, minority student, the first of my family to attend college, I have
already harbored many personal and professional experiences that have fueled me with the passion and drive
to continue to work towards a long-term career goal in clinical research. Specifically, I strive to obtain my
Masters in Public Health, focusing on improving health outcomes for marginalized communities. The learning
goals proposed in this diversity administrative supplement, supported by my proposed, experienced mentor Dr.
Joyce Yi-Frazier, will optimally position me for success in this career trajectory. Dr. Yi-Frazier’s parent proposal
is an R01 examining the efficacy of an intervention for youth with type 1 diabetes. Given the timeline of the
R01, I will be able to participate in many impactful ways. The learning goals are to: 1) gain clinical research
coordinator experience, 2) learn to analyze and present data, and 3) conduct a deep-dive into the
understanding of pediatric mental health interventions, specifically related to health outcomes and minority
health. I will be supported by Dr. Yi-Frazier and Drs. Faisal Malik and Marisa Hilliard to help meet these goals.
This supplement will significantly strengthen my experiences as a researcher and position me for a future
career in research.
