StrokeNet Administrative Supplement for the Funding Extension

PROJECT SUMMARY The UMN RCC is an established, high-performance RCC within StrokeNet. We have a track record of high enrollment, notably in complex time sensitive acute stroke trials and work in close collaboration with the robust stroke care systems in the upper Midwest. The University of Minnesota (UMN) Regional Coordinating Center (RCC) will continue to support StrokeNet research activities during 4-month gap between the end of the current StrokeNet award on July 31, 2023 and the start of the new award on December 1, 2023. We are requesting a funding extension to continue our RCC activities. We are unable to re-budget to cover the 4-month gap since our RCC budget will not have any carry-forward at the end of the current award period. Lack of supplement funds will have a negative impact on RCC activities and continued performance of essential StrokeNet activities listed above. Our RCC will continue essential StrokeNet activities including: 1) Continued enrollment and follow up of participants in ongoing clinical trials at our hub hospitals and support of clinical trial activities at all our satellite sites. 2) Continue participation in new trial activities including feasibility surveys and site selection surveys. 3) Onboard new StrokeNet trials which may start during the gap period. 4) Continue participation in StrokeNet meetings including monthly steering committee meetings, work group meetings and grand rounds. 5) Continue mentorship of StrokeNet fellows as well as our clinical Vascular Neurology fellows and junior faculty by leveraging the resources provided by StrokeNet and UMN School of Public Health and CTSI.
