英文摘要
Semiconductors must observe physical rules which define the elements in a circuit and these can be extremely complex. Extra rules called Design for Manufacturing (DFM) can be applied to improve performance and manufacturing yield, but these can affect chip complexity and cost. The objective of this project is to provide software that will automatically modify circuit elements to meet DFM rules. Components in the circuit library will be adjusted to meet enhanced design rules while keeping the impact to chip area to a minimum. Engineers can experiment with different rules and options to assess the effect of these changes before committing them to production.Semiconductor manufacturing is rapidly increasing in complexity and silicon density, placing greater challenges to engineers and design software manufacturers. IN2FAB's new software will help designers keep pace with these changes and choose the best options for the next generation of silicon. The goal of the project is to provide the first level of production software for applying DFM to standard cell libraries. Customers for this new EDA product will include semiconductor designers and manufacturers worldwide, who will benefit from enhanced design automation and productivity.
