英文摘要
The scanning of body shapes in a specific demographic of women between the ages of 40 and 70 to create data that will assist in the development of correctly fitting clothes through the creation of correct patterns, blocks and grading rules. Challenge the existing framework of sizing from this data to ensure ranges that fit most size shapes. Assess the correct use of fabrics most suitable to the clothes being manufactured.Through the correct application of sizing, fit and fabric, we aim to reduce stock inventory and returned goods which will lead to a reduction in carbon emissions. To greatly reduce waste and clothing going to landfill along with improved margins though cost savings.By ensuring good quality fitting clothes we should be able to reduce consumption and therefore preserve valuable resources throughout the entire production process and improve the lifecycle of any item. Creating clothes to fit this demographic also improves well-being.
