The project endeavours to develop an innovative platform for real-time spectrum sensing that synthesizes state-of-the-art Software-Defined Radio (SDR) technologies with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm models to be the front-end RF awareness software component. The innovative and dynamic RF sensing platform will provide advanced and efficient spectrum management by leveraging cutting-edge technologies in digital signal processing and radio communication systems to enable the integration and coexistence of Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) and Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) architectures.This innovative framework aims to address the increasing demand for wireless connectivity by monitoring and managing the spectrum more efficiently, optimizing the utilisation of the available spectrum not only to predict and mitigate interference, but also to enhance the flexibility, adaptability, and reliability of wireless communication systems.The proposed system has the potential to make significant impact across a wide range of applications in both commercial and military communication systems as well as addressing the challenge of spectrum scarcity. Moreover, the ability of the platform to integrate and coexist with different wireless technologies will promote the innovation and development of future wireless technologies with potential applications in satellite, transport, healthcare and automation industries, thus increasing productivity and driving economic growth.
