In this project, funded by EIT FOOD Activity RisingFoodStars (18236-21) and UKRI, a new product named ‘Mimica Bump Cap’ will be launched into the market. Mimica’s Bump cap is a temperature-sensitive indicator for food freshness. It helps you store your food at the right temperature, reducing food waste by changing its texture when your food actually spoils, rather than relying on the wasteful worst-case scenario expiry date. Available in a growing range of formats, Bump by Mimica aspires to be the global mark of freshness in various industries. It is available in a cap as a direct result of this funded project. The novelty of the Bump cap is demonstrated by the activation mechanism patent granted in UK/Europe, and Trade mark for ‘Bump’ also granted in UK during 2022. Fast Track to Market Initiative (KAVA Task), a new Business Creation opportunity to advance the commercialisation of B2B technological solutions of RisingFoodStars while generating both economic and societal impact and significantly contributing to the financial sustainability of the RFS Association and EIT Food as a whole.
