Small World Aviation wants to develop an AI-powered Airline Optimisation Model to enhance and optimise its flight planning and analysis.This project focuses on utilising AI-driven data analysis for prediction, planning, and optimisation of its proposed sub-19-seat airline operation today with a view to the future utilisation of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft or similar in the coming years, initially operating in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. We will identify and synthesise data sources and investigate the feasibility of them being used to optimise the overall airline operation.The project is innovative because it can locate and analyse data in real-time, looking at many more data points than today's systems and turning it into an automated, AI-based work stream. This system will be the first of its kind to be launched in the world and will form a crucial part of the Advanced Air Mobility sector in the UK and worldwide.Teaming up with the expertise at Edinburgh Napier University offers an outstanding commercially focussed implementation of AI-based algorithms for transport and logistics in the UK and beyond.
