Chelmsford College: **Steps 2 Inclusive Employment** -- Innovating Businesses**For adults with learning disabilities and Autism with ambitions of gaining paid work, the Inclusive Employment programme will enhance the opportunities available to you; by identifying possible employers, developing CVs, arranging and mediating interviews, offering skills development, internships and on-the-job coaching.**We have a new innovation team who are directly involved in the Inclusive Project in partnership with Essex County Council, DWP, Chamber of Commerce, Networking Essex, Bounce Back and the Business Improvement District are just to name a few.The aim to help businesses "give them the support and tools to recruit an inclusive workforce"**Steps 2 Inclusive Employment** -- An innovation project funded through Innovate UK and is focused on improving labour market inequalities for groups identified as among the most underrepresented in the Essex workforce. The aim of the project is to encourage employers to fill vacancies with more diverse candidates from a complex labour market, including those from non-traditional backgrounds, high needs, neurodiverse, Autism, SEND, the over 50's returning to work, ex-service personnel, ex-offenders and immigrants.Our Employment advisors and Job Coaches will help and support business to feel confident in recruiting a diverse workforce and where necessary provide financial support for equipment, adjustments in the workplace, ongoing support to the candidate if they have barriers to travel.Once a business has joined the project they will be allocated a job coach that will help them with the tools and resources in finding the right candidate as an internship or paid employment.On attaining employment, we provide support for both employees and employers for as long as required, to ensure a successful outcome for both parties.
