英文摘要
Brewfitt are a family company that have served the drink industry across the world for over 50 years. They are the UK's leading supplier to pubs and bars and have, since they invented the first drinks cooling system, had to constantly innovate to provide better products and services and stay ahead of the competition. In this project they are responding to increasing demand for diversity in pubs and bars whilst reducing environmental and financial costs and product wastage. The temperature at which a drink is served is crucial to to its success, but the technology that is in place to deliver temperature range needed is over half a century old. There are currently over 40, 000 drinks cellars in the UK each of which employs ineffcient cooling systems that constantly consume 4kw. Drinks are pumped substantial distances to the bar during which they warm up and waste further energy. At the bar, drinks are further cooled to drinking temperature by additional, 1kW coolers. In addition to this drink also accumulates in long pipe runs resulting in a typical wastage of 20 litres a week, or, over a 1,000 litre a year.Brewfitt have invented an innovative new, cooling system that is far more efficient system - based upon a highly compact heat exchanger - that can cool drinks on demand, at the point of dispense. This system could potentially save up to 75% of the cooling costs of an outlet resulting in savings of approximately £100m, 100’s of millions of tonnes of CO2 and 40 million litres of drinks in the UK alone.
