This project aims to explore the feasibility of using a new class of chemical compound called Metal OrganicFrameworks (MOFs) to deliver antimicrobial metal ions and nitric oxide (NO) gas for the wound managementmarket. The purpose is to prevent biofilms forming in wounds and to increase healing rates (NO is bothantimicrobial and a wound healing promoter).
