Ori are developing the next generation of solutions for manufacturing cell and gene therapies (CGT) at commercial scale.CAR-T cell therapies are a type of CGT that have been shown to be incredibly effective in treating life-threatening conditions, including blood cancers and holds great hope in solid tumours; however, there are huge problems in the way these therapies are manufactured.These problems are leading to patients having limited access to these potentially life-saving therapies. This project focusses on the development of technology that will allow therapies to be made with maximum efficiency and to the highest quality, with the fastest throughput. This will address huge challenges currently encountered with manufacturing CGT and specifically, CAR-T cell therapies.Ori's vision is to enable access to these life-saving therapies for patients suffering from aggressive forms of cancer and other serious conditions. Ori technology will enable this access by improving how manufacturing is carried out and reducing the cost, which is currently extremely high (about £175K per therapy dose made).
