Big Sky Science Ltd has assembled a team to develop an innovative device to solve challenges in measuring biologically active particles. Rapid prototyping, aerosol and optical expertise, coupled with microengineering and manufacturing upscaling, will allow such a device to be commercially available within a short period of time.We anticipate this device will be of benefit to the healthcare industry and border patrol officials, and will enhance the ability of users of the device (and the data it generates), to more accurately assess levels of contamination of both COVID19 and other airborne viral infections within the community. This is especially valuable in infections where viral shedding occurs prior to other detectable symptoms. This will have the effect on reducing the scale and duration of required lockdown conditions, ultimately benefiting individuals and the wider economy.
