This project aims to leverage substantial existing investment in microscopy infrastructure to create a unique and comprehensive cryo-microscopy laboratory which is available to all Australian researchers in an open-access user environment. This project will use cryogenic transfer solutions to connect a suite of advanced microscopy platforms, opening up these techniques to new research areas. The facility will support research projects across disciplines such as materials science, nanotechnology, chemistry and biological science. It will provide research infrastructure to projects ranging from the prevention of corrosion in alloys for new energy technologies to the improvement of the biocompatibility of biomedical devices.
