Boardside Recycling Ltd has identified a new plastic waste stream opportunity, based around waste food packaging. Recovery of the waste stream material has previously been hampered by the challenge of removing the strong smell due to the degrading of the food ingredients that had been stored in the packaging. We have identified a new process step which appears to completely eliminate the odour, enabling us to recycle the packaging material into a high value, near virgin specification polymer.
