Biomolecular Core (BMC) will house, maintain, and use the mass photometer. BMC is a full cost recovery Shared Research Facility that specialises in production of viral vectors, bookable equipment, and training, all managed via an online booking system. The mass photometer will be bookable and available to internal customers, over +14 Research Centres, with an active customer base of +1200 that currently use the BMC and external users including commercial companies. Customer research interests include reproductive health, inflammation, neuroscience, molecular and cellular medicine, and translational research, amongst others. The mass photometer will specifically aid recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) production since this is currently hampered by the lack of a mechanism to check the integrity and thus quality of rAAV being produced.
