Online semantic annotation of streaming video at the point of capture is important for future media production and distribution. Online Annotation is essential to overcome the bottlenecks of storage and transmission as well as extracting value from the captured content. This research will investigate methods for online analysis of streaming visual content to annotate information on scenes, people and their activities. This Automated annotation will support improved search, indexing and retrieval of media archives for production and personalised consumption.
