This project will identify opportunities for creating new forms of visual/audio-visual immersive or interactive content through analysis and processing of conventional video feeds using novel algorithms. Suitable processing methods will be implemented and tested on a range of broadcast-style video. Research will build on recent advances in free-viewpoint video and general dynamic scene reconstruction to develop computer vision methods for creation of immersive 360 VR experiences from live-action content which allow the viewer to move through the scene. Novel methods will be developed for dynamic scene reconstruction from 360 video. This technology has potential for widespread application in the media industries with the advent of immersive content.
