英文摘要
This PhD project utilises spectrally filtered CCD cameras to acquire images of the plasma near the divertor target filtered in wavelength to select particular plasma emission lines. The research would involve applying ray tracing and tomography techniques to unfold the images to provide a measure of how the plasma properties evolve in 2 spatial dimensions and time in the MAST-Upgrade device under construction at CCFE. The radiation analysis will be supported by atomic physics modelling. The student will also be involved in an integrated analysis that takes data from multiple diagnostics, including cameras, electrical probes and laser scattering, to infer the underlying plasma properties across the divertor plasma region and thus how atomic physics and other processes determine its evolution.
