Cold sintering is a newly emerged technology that utilises a pressure mediated, solvent based route to compact and densify ceramics at ultra-low temperatures. It has the potential to revolutionise ceramic and glass technology, resulting in sustainable manufacturing of hitherto high temperature high energy products. The project aims to develop ultra-low temperature (cold, <200 oC) sintering methods for a range of ceramic and glass powder technologies critical to Johnson Matthey's portfolio of products.
