The Protein Chemistry Facility Core, directed by Dr. Guengerich (5% effort), provides amino acid sequence analysis and quantitative amino acid analyses. The EHS Center is only one of several sponsors of this facility and the Center?s usage accounts for approximately 28% of the facilities activity. The Center is asked to support Dr. Guengerich?s oversight in years 3-5, 50% of a Research Assistant and 25% of maintenance contracts for the LF3400t and AB Procise sequencer. This will allow Center investigators to use this facility at 50% of the actual cost. This facility has been used by nine investigators and extensive support has been provided to seven Center investigators from three Research Cores (Enzymatic Oxidation and Conjugation, Oxidative Damage, and Regulation of Gene Expression.
