The project will build on our work in the catalytic conversion of methanol and ethanol to advanced biofuel molecules by using transition metal and basic catalyst functions that are integrated into a Metal Organic Framework (MOF) structure. The synthesis, characterisation and testing of such catalysts will be complemented by mechanistic study to understand how the use of MOFs compared to simple homogeneous catalysts influences performance.
