I am particularly interested in working with patient specific disease models, especially more complex multilineageconstructs, making this project with Dr Lakatos my preferred choice. This interest was cultivated during my time in theTedesco Lab at UCL, where we are creating multilineage muscle constructs to model skeletal muscle diseases. Thisproject would allow me to further investigate the potential of using organoids for translational research, which isparticularly important to me, as I find the translational aspect of projects highly motivating. My master's module, 'TheNeurobiology of Neurodegenerative Diseases', has developed my fascination with the complexity and different levels ofinteraction that take place in diseases such as ALS, and I think increasing our understanding of the interactions andprogression on an inter-cellular level will be invaluable in moving our understanding forward.
