My focus for this project is to disrupt stereotypes and address cultural taboos of young female sexuality and sex currently adopted within British Theatre, and examine how this can be achieved through transgressive humour. My aims are to validate and make visible stories of young female sexuality which are culturally taboo and are reductively stereotyped. The stereotypes I will disrupt include female desire, promiscuity, pleasure, 'imperfect' bodies and sex. This project will consist of two full length plays intended for professional production, and a critical enquiry.
