An exploration of flesh consumption in post-1990 speculative fiction

My chosen research topic is an exploration of flesh consumption in post-1990 speculative fiction. I propose to look at five main areas (making up my five chapters): Edible flesh, where I will consider which types of flesh are considered edible and why; Survival flesh, which will examine how flesh consumption is configured in survival scenarios; Cultural Flesh, where flesh consumption as a human ontological truth and cultural norm will be discussed; Traumatic Flesh, where the traumatic effects of killing for flesh and consuming flesh will be discussed; and Sustainable Flesh, where speculative considerations of engineered flesh will be considered, alongside human survival and environmental impacts.
