The basic goal is to create algorithms that exhibit behaviour which resembles the human creative process. That is to say, an algorithm that is capable of formulating an intention, of going through a series of productive acts, and of evaluating the outcome against its original intention. Systems that do achieve this could find application both in the games and the design industries, as part of a toolkit in the computer-assisted production of graphics, art and video game assets.While we can learn a lot about human creativity, how to define and evaluate it, by trying to artificially reproduce it, we might come to understand that there are ways of intelligent and creative thinking beyond our own.
