Augmenting cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for psychosis through integration of attachment theory

My research aims to improve health outcomes and wellbeing of people with psychosis, which is among the leading causes of disability worldwide. Collectively, the studies will investigate whether feelings of safety and interpersonal security, fostered by a visualisation task, reduce paranoia and anxiety and increase mood and recovery outcomes. If we find this to be the case, the simple visualisation task could be incorporated into psychological therapy, and used a standalone intervention, to improve wellbeing and recovery outcomes for people with psychosis. This, in turn, would reduce healthcare costs to the NHS.
