This research will demonstrate the value of the curatorial to establishnew models for cross-disciplinary collaboration in order to redefinethe capabilities of the arts in relation to STEM practices, andrebalance the predominance of the STEM agenda in currenteducational and cultural discourses and policies. Reviewing significanthistorical models of cross-disciplinary collaboration from avant-gardemovements of the 60s - the Artist Placement Group, Fluxus andExperiments in Art + Technology - the research will establish newmethodologies and models to inform the STEAM agenda.
