英文摘要
This project aims to inquire into how the embodied experience ofindividuals with Tourettes Syndrome (TS) experience the world inwhich they find themselves, taking into account existing postphenomenologicalliteratures regarding the body, space, place andaffect. It will use an interdisciplinary approach to challenge andevolve foundational understandings of the human body withinCultural Geography, but implementing a Tourettic lens. ThisTourettic lens will be applied in its approach to existing theories ofthe body, identity construction, and affect. By applying this lens, newavenues for the study of neurodiversity and impulsivity withingeographical consideration of affect, space, place and the body willarise. Providing a foundation from which to research abnormallyscripted bodies, the project also seeks to explore issues surroundingthe representation of TS within charitable organisations and withinthe media, pushing for genuine first-hand Tourettic narratives in away that respectfully raises the voices of the Tourettic community.
