The results of this research project would enable a greater understanding of the relationship between ice sheet dynamics, ocean and atmosphere in Iceland. This knowledge can then contribute to a wider understanding on the controls of global sea level rise and gain insight to the dynamics and behaviour of larger ice sheets such as Greenland and Antarctica. It is ultimately hoped that this research will strengthen predictions of ice caps and ice sheets response to climate change. | The research objectives of this paper would be1. Assess the impact of seasonal variation on ice flow velocity2. Investigate the influence of calving on overall glacier dynamics3. Model future ice flow of Hofsjökull ice cap4. Validate model outcomes with existing data5. Estimate uncertainty in predictions of future ice loss due to uncertainty in parameters
