This project explores gendered social narratives in video games communities, their part in the far-right radicalization of young men and the roles of women in this radicalization. A postmodern speculative adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet will explore how superpositions of gendered narratives of marginalization can create extremist attitudes in women gamers. The accompanying critical project consists of: 1) an essay using the metaphor of a porous 'magic circle' to explore games communities as spaces simultaneously isolated from and influenced by the outside world, particularly regarding extremist narratives; 2) a reflective essay exploring Failure and the Feminist experience in video gaming.
