The project speaks to the CEL pathway primarily in exploring the eliteinterests and power dynamics in cities in both the global north and south.The project explores how elites shape the city space in terms of planningand access to basic services, and further the consequences that this hasfor urban environments and liveability. Further the project contributes tothe CDD pathway in exploring how elites influence and shape spaces forparticipation and consultation in cities. The power dynamics ofgovernance, citizenship and development processes will be revealedthrough a multi-dimensional analysis thus contributing to the grandchallenges of each pathway.
