The project will assess the economic performance of various nuclear fuels and materials being considered as Advanced Technology Fuels (ATFs). Through a combination of neutronic and fuel performance modelling and economic assessment of the fuel cycle and system, research will provide justifications for advancing certain candidates, also providing areas for industry to focus on regarding improvements to efficiency and manufacturing processes to further enhance the economic performance of advanced fuels.
