To appropriately prescribe prostheses it is important to understand the activity levels of the user that the device needs to meet. At this time no objective, quantitative assessment tool exists that can support prescribers in achieving an optimum match between device and user. The challenge lies in users being a diverse and continually-changing population, that may move up (or down) in their activity levels throughout the life course. This PhD will aim to:1. Scope the nature of the problem2. Research what can be done with technology to help solve the problem3. Create possible technical solutions and test them for feasibility
