英文摘要
Cells in developmental morphogenesis require feedback from their environment to findtheir correct positions and establish functional shapes. The processes are challengingto understand in vivo so this project will integrate simulations to provide essentialexplanatory power to untangle the complex feedback. The Bentley laboratory areexpert in developing predictive cell simulations and the MacDonald lab are in vivoexperts understanding glial cells, the support cells of the nervous system. In order toconduct their many supportive functions for neurons, glial cells must be positionedcorrectly amongst the synaptic connections, but how glial cells achieve this remains tobe explored.
