This PhD project investigates how different audio description (AD) strategiesimpact the perception of humour among visually impaired persons (VIPs) inChina.This research question can be divided into two sub-questions:1. Can strategies for translating humour in text-based media be applied toconvey humour in AD? If not, what are the AD-specific translationstrategies?2. Do VIPs have particular preferences when consuming AD for humourousenjoyment? If so, what are they?
