The aim of project:To review the sizing and calibration process in ultrasonic phased array for welding and WAAM inspection (room temperature and high temperature)Review calibration standards techniques for robotically delivered phased array ultrasound technology.Review calibration standard and techniques for couplant free (dry-coupled) Phased Array inspection.Highlight the use of Robotic Ultrasound Phased Array as a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) tool for in-process testing.Identify the challenges for in-process ultrasonic phased array defect sizing and characterisation.Quantify effect of high temperature and dry coupling on Ultrasound calibration, defect sizing and characterisation.Research and develop different off-line and on- line calibration methods to enhance the detection and sizing measurements accuracy level using robotically delivered Ultrasound Phased Array Roller Probe Technology Research and develop calibration and compensation techniques for high temperature dry coupled inspection.
