Organic semiconductors are increasingly at the forefront of making energy usage more sustainable. Organic solar cells (OSCs) and Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) can be fabricated using these non-toxic materials for low cost. These devices can also be thin, flexible, and transparent, giving them a wider range of applications compared to their rigid inorganic counterparts. This project aims to study the high-speed optoelectronic properties of working organic semiconductor devices using time-resolved spectroscopy. The aim is to gain understanding of the factors controlling device performance under operating conditions and relate this to the material and device structure.
