英文摘要
This research aims to draw the connections between gender, nutrition, and migration, to understand the factors that influence the dietary transitions among migrant women in the UK, and the wider implications this has.In addition to learning lessons about the impacts of dietary transitions between different generationsin the migrant populations, the study aims to link these understandings to public health action and policies at the local i.e., cityandnational level. While gender dynamics are constantly changing,an understanding of this subset of the populations' lived experience presents evidence for better public health governance, particularly for migrant populations. The main research question is: What are the factors that influence the dietary transitions of migrant women in the UK, and with whatwiderimplications? The following sub questions will help answer the main research question:1.What does existing data on migrant population nutrition and dietary habits show?2.What factors (internal/external factors, including gender or cultural norms) influence the food choices of the target population, and what differences are there between generations? 3.How does food policy in the UK impact its migrant communities? What lessons canbe drawn from these lived experiences (and/or policies from elsewhere) towards better food environments for migrant communities?
