英文摘要
My PhD focusses on mathematical modelling of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and in assessing impact and cost-effectiveness of vaccination strategies. There are 3 main aims: 1. Informing gonorrhoea vaccination strategy in Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM), by modelling the health economic value of vaccination. 2. Modelling how gonorrhoea vaccination affects acquisition of infection, development of symptoms, persistence of infection and infectivity, in a trial and at the population level in MSM. This will inform the interpretation of trial data and future trial design. 3. Characterising M. genitalium natural history from cohort data, accounting for effects of antibiotic treatment and other STIs, to improve models and guide development of control policy.
