I strive to understand the causes of and develop precise diagnoses and effective treatments for individuals with childhood onset neurological disabilities. These life-long disorders of brain development and function, which include epilepsies, intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsies, affect up to 5% of world-wide populations. To identify disease origins and to decipher the underlying disease mechanisms, I will use cutting edge genetic and biology techniques and stem cell models.
