Amethyst have committed to provide training, consultation on emerging applications and support the student with sample assessment. The development of follow-on impact focused projects is core to their business model and fully expected from this PhD project. They have a proven relationship with Lancaster including a successful KTP, so know well how to support the student. Amethyst will support the student to steering the goals for the devices to be targeted, especially wavelength of operation, device architecture and operating voltage. Their commercial perspective and expertise will significantly enhance the relevance of the work and the student will learn how to focus their research towards potential applications. By the completion of their PhD, they Amethyst will have helped them understand the research and development pipeline, road mapping and pathways to impact.
