This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, sequential dose escalation study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, maximum tolerance dose, physical affects and preliminary effectiveness of cidofovir in kidney transplant recipients with newly diagnosed BK virus-induced nephropathy (kidney disorder). Cidofovir VISTIDE is a marketed product for cytomegalovirus disease in HIV-infected patients.
